Abstract: Houzishi land slide treatment is the most important geological hazard protection project in Three Gorges Reservoir area. The protection has lasted for nearly 10 years and experienced multiple stages due to direct or indirect influence of complicated external environment and unfavorable design conditions. The whole process of the landslide treatment project is reviewed, and the research conclusion, design scheme and key design representative are explained. The challenges of the design work are introduced. The innovative treatment method of underground replacement of resistance sliding key was put forward, which was further optimized during the implementation. The safety monitoring results shows that the landslide is safe, stable, and the operation of the project is fine since its completion in 2008.
