Abstract: Due to unreasonable hardware configuration and incomplete function, the former water showering system for side water seal of dam gate of Jinping Hydropower Station Ⅱcannot provide full lubrication, which is difficult in remote automation control. We introduce the reform process of the water seal showering system in detail, such as water sources selection, pump configuration, pipe arrangement and controlling function design based on PLC, etc. The present water showering system has experienced the one-year operation test, indicating that it can meet the demands of full lubrication and remote automation control, which can be helpful to similar gate reform design.
