Abstract:
Most of riverside cities are rich in water resources, but the pollution induced water shortage is often a restricting factor for the development of the cities. The construction of water-saving society can solve the water resources development bottleneck for riverside cities, so conducting objective assessment for the construction achievement is the basis of the related work. According to the social development and water resources characteristics of riverside cities, 24 main related evaluation indexes are selected to compose 4 relative isolated evaluation groups, and with the comprehensive analysis and evaluation means of analytic hierarchy process (AHP), the evaluation model for water-saving society construction of riverside cities is established. The model is applied in Jiangyin City in Yangtze River Basin. The evaluation result shows that the city has reached outstanding-level in construction of water-saving society, which is consistent with the actual situation that it became a national demonstration city in water-saving society construction in 2015. So, the evaluation model is scientific and reasonable.
