Abstract:
Backfilling is a common means to improve the stability of natural soil slope, and backfilling schemes have large influence on the improvement of slope stability and engineering cost. To study the influence of different backfilling schemes on stability, we analyzed stability coefficient, location of potential slip plane and slope crest displacement of four backfilling schemes (horizontal, slope toe, midslope and slope bottom) by using finite difference software FLAC3D. The results show that backfilling can improve the stability coefficient of the slope obviously, and cause a inward deformation tendency at slope crest; moreover, the self-stability of backfilling soil affect the location of potential slip plane; for same backfilling volume, the backfilling from slope toe has the best effect to improve slope stability. The results are of great significance to the design of backfilling scheme for natural soil slope.
