Abstract:
In the foundation treatment of a large-scale project in Qinzhou port of Guangxi Province, the treatment effect of dynamic compaction on soft foundation under different energy-levels is analyzed in detail based on multi-channel transient surface wave test, heavy dynamic penetration test before and after dynamic compaction, and static load test after dynamic compaction. The results show that the bearing capacity and compression modulus of the foundation in soft area do not meet design requirements after dynamic compaction; the bearing capacity of the foundation and engineering characteristics of the soil outside the soft area were improved after dynamic compaction, and the bearing capacity and compression modulus of the foundation basically meet correlative requirements; the effective reinforced depths under the energy levels of 2000, 3000, 6000, 8000, 10000, 12000 kN.m were about 2.5, 4.0 to 6.0, 6.0 to 8.0, 7.0 to 10.0, 8.0 to 11.0 and 8.0 to 13.0 m respectively. It is suggested that some reinforcement measures should be taken according to pit excavation depth of the soft area. The experience and results could be referred to by other foundation treatment with similar geotechnical conditions.
