Abstract: The current situation of Yangtze River water resources protection was analyzed from three aspects i.e. water quality of Yangtze River Basin, pollutant discharge into the river and state requirement on green development of Yangtze River Economic Zone. From zoning, examination and approval, supervision, and basic tasks of Yangtze River sewage outlet, a brief summary was made on its current management situation and the existing problems were reviewed. Based on the management situation of sewage outlet, we put forward a general idea and priorities on how Changjiang Water Resources Commission is able to strengthen the management of sewage outlet to Yangtze River, which has great reference value under new situation.
