Abstract:
Construction of soil and water conservation monitoring station network is the groundwork for monitoring. The Three Gorges Reservoir area, lower reaches of Jinsha River, Jialing River Basin, upper reaches of Wujiang River and Tuojiang River Basin are the concentrated areas of soil and water loss in Yangtze River Basin. Serious soil and water loss has restricted the process of ecological civilization, and affected the healthy development of economy and society. Based on the fundamental starting point of providing technical support and information service for ecological environment construction, protection management of the Three Gorges Project and ecological civilization construction in the Three Gorges Reservoir area, the construction ideas of the soil and water conservation monitoring network in the Three Gorges Reservoir area and its upper reaches were put forward. The network was composed of one watershed monitoring center, five provincial monitoring stations and thirty eight monitoring points. Furthermore, in order to get hold of the overall situation of soil and water loss and its variation trend, the monitoring information service mode of different scales and objects were also put forward based on the method system of regional monitoring by cooperative station network, typical monitoring, man-made soil and water loss monitoring.
