Abstract: Water inrush is an serious karst hydro-geological problem in tunnel construction process, especially in the vicinity of the soluble rock runoff area. Water inrush may impose constraints on tunnel engineering and directly affect construction, which may delay the construction and increase cost or even make the project unfeasible. To prevent and control water inrush hazards in the construction process, we adhere to the principles of "prevention first, combining prevention and control, clarifying every uncertainties and tunneling after exploring" and adopt comprehensive measures of prospecting, releasing, blocking, cutting off and discharging through studying on appropriate countermeasures. We take pro-active measures and prepare plans in advance so as to make quick respond to abrupt events.
