Abstract:
In order to promote the new urbanization process and enhance the quality of water resources security, an evaluation index system was built from aspects of the urban population, space, economy, society and the environment, pressure, development of water resources. Coordination model was used to evaluate the coupling periods of urbanization quality and water resources safety and comprehensive development level of Guangdong Province from 2008~2016. The results show that: (1) new urbanization quality with water resources safety in Guangdong province is highly coupled, basically similar to the spatial differentiation law of South China's regional scale; (2)the coupling degree of new urbanization quality and water resources safety at prefecture level in Guangdong Province are between 0.940~0.999, indicating the rapid increase of new urbanization quality and spatial difference of the water resources security index; (3)the coupling degrees of the regions from big to small are Pearl River Delta, eastern Guangdong Province, western Guangdong Province, northern Guangdong Province, proving that different regions are at different stages of urbanization development, the impact on water ecological security is different, and its influence has not changed the overall quality of urbanization development.
