Abstract:
After the 13th Five-Year Plan of the National Eco-Island Reef Project was formally promulgated, China has set off a climax of island ecological renovation and restoration. However, islands' poor ecological environment, strong sea wind and lack of fresh water resources make planting difficult. Based on the successful experience of ecological restoration of Pingtan Dayu Island, we demonstrate the restoration technologies on soil covered area and rock covered area respectively. Aiming at the problems such as lack of fresh water and high cost of planting, we constructed rainwater collecting system and two sewage treatment stations. These measures improve the island's plant growth environment, effectively enrich the diversity of vegetation communities and improve the island's ecological restoration. The research results can provide some reference for the similar island ecological restoration projects.
