Abstract:
Grid constraint system is as an effective solution for any erosion control. In order to study the effects of different restraint systems (triangle, circle and rectangle) on soil loss, a series of indoor model tests were carried out by changing the restraint form, mesh aperture and slope gradient. The test results showed that: ①Compared with the unconstrained slope, the soil loss of restrained slope decreased greatly, and the failure rate of the slope was slower. ② In the early stage of rainfall, the restraint form and mesh aperture had no significant effect on soil loss. Only when the rainfall lasted for a long time could the effect be obvious. ③ The triangular constraints system had the best constraint effect, circular constraints system was the second, and square constraints system was the worst. ④ Soil loss increased with the increase of rainfall duration and slope. The smaller the aperture of the constraint system was, the better the soil conservation was, without considering the economic cost. The research results can provide a reference for soil and water conservation and slope protection.
