Abstract:
A CFRD, Yixing Pumping Power Station in Jiangsu Province, with a dam toe retaining wall is built on a steep slope rock base, where the topography is a long and deep gully. Therefore, the dam safety during construction period and after impoundment is attracting more attention. In this paper, according to the complex topographic condition CAD files, a three-dimensional finite element mesh including steep slope, dam body, arc type face slab on sides, toe retaining wall and anti-slide pile were generated by the self-compiled mesh automatic generation program. Based on speed-up computation techniques, the nonlinear three-dimensional finite element analysis was carried out, and the deformation and stress distribution of the dam body, concrete face slab and the retaining wall were obtained. The calculated results indicate that the deformation and stress of the concrete face rockfill dam meet the safety requirements, which provides a basis for the design and construction of the CFRD built on slope rock base in long and steep gully.
