Abstract:
Aiming at the “middle obstruction” problem in the main channel of the middle Changjiang River, a system solution named Jinghan Ecological Waterway was proposed.Through sorting out the development conditions of waterways and ports in the middle reaches of the Changjiang River, we analyzed the comprehensive impact of the implementation of the Jinghan Ecological Waterway on the development of navigation from the aspects of waterways, ports and transportation safety.The research results show that:(1) The construction of Jinghan Ecological Waterway will form a pattern of dual channel transportation in the middle reaches area, promote the unification of channel section standardization of the Changjiang River and the networking of regional high-grade channels, forming a convenient channel to the upper reaches of the Changjiang River, greatly improving the accessibility of large ships on the main channel of the Changjiang River, and realizing a higher-level river-to-sea intermodal and direct transportation.(2) The new deep-water shoreline will bring good development conditions for regional ports, enhance the role of port hubs along new waterways, but it will bring certain adverse effects on Yueyang Port.(3) Jinghan Ecological Waterway will improve the overall safety of navigation in the midstream region, but it will also increase the complexity of navigation of the intersection area of the new and old waterway, which will bring certain safety risks to local waters.
