Abstract:
High-piled wharf is the most commonly used wharf type in estuary and offshore area, because it is appropriate for soft ground. Under the action of self-weight of the soft ground and loading behind the high-piled wharf, the high-piled wharf will generate obvious lateral displacement, thus the pier structure will be seriously damaged and the safety of the high-piled wharf will also be threatened. Based on a centrifugal model test of wharf structure reinforced by CDM (cement deep mixing) method and without reinforcement, the deformation mechanism of bank slope, displacement pattern and bearing capacity of the high-piled wharf were clear, and the influences of the CDM method on bank slope deformation of the high-piled wharf were studied. The results showed that by using CDM method, the reinforcing body plays a role of retaining wall, thus the horizontal displacement of bank slope decreased and slope top had more heaving deformation, while soil body under the reinforcing body expand laterally. In general, the bearing capacity of the high-piled wharf reinforced by CDM was enhanced observably.
