Abstract:
In construction of reefs and islands, the grounds of calcareous sand are influenced by cyclic loads such as sea wave, so it is necessary to study the dynamic response of calcareous sand under cyclic load. We carried out cyclic triaxial tests to study the pore water pressure development of calcareous sand under different consolidation confining pressures, relative densities and cyclic stress ratios. The Zhang Jianmin's pore pressure model was used to analyze the normalized pore pressure development mode of each working condition, and the recommended pore pressure model under each condition was given. The results showed that Zhang Jianmin C type model was suitable for describing the development mode of pore pressure when the cyclic stress level was large, and modified Zhang Jianmin A type model could describe soils that were in high consolidated confining pressure and high relative density while a medium stress level, and the other cases could be fitted by type B. The fitting parameters of each model have good correlation with relative density and consolidation confining pressure.
