Abstract:
In order to explore the influence of interval, depth and permeability coefficient of double cutoff walls on the anti-seepage effect, the finite element analysis software ABAQUS was used to analyze various layout schemes of double cutoff walls for Pubugou earth-rockfill dam, and the seepage distribution of the dam foundation under different permeability coefficients combination and different curtain depths combination were obtained. The results show that when the permeability coefficients of the cutoff walls were less than 10-7cm/s, both the permeability coefficients of the main wall and auxiliary wall had little effect on the seepage distribution of the dam foundation; if the permeability coefficients of the cutoff walls were greater than 10-7cm/s, when the permeability coefficients ratio of the main wall to the auxiliary wall increased, the head reduction and hydraulic gradient of the auxiliary wall would increase, and the water level between the two walls decreased. When the curtain under the cutoff wall didn’t reach the fresh bedrock, with the enlargement of the curtain depths ratio of the main wall to the auxiliary wall, the head reduction and hydraulic gradient of the main wall and the water level between two walls both increased. When the curtain depth reached the fresh bedrock, increasing the curtain depths had little effect on the seepage distribution of the dam foundation. The research results can provide a useful reference for the layout design of double cut-off walls in high earth-rockfill dams on deep overburden.
