Abstract:
In view of the problems in horizontal bearing capacity calculation of pile foundations in Technical Specification for Building Pile Foundations (JGJ94-2008), such as the fuzzy determination of the horizontal resistance coefficient proportional coefficient m, and the ignorance to surface soil horizontal resistance generated by the cohesion, the horizontal bearing capacity and displacement analytical analysis of the pile foundation in the double-layer soil foundation are given by power series solutions in ordinary differential equation. Based on the newly derived general solution, the semi-analytical formulas for the horizontal displacement and rotation of the semi-rigid pile top are calculated by using Matlab. And a new calculation formula for the horizontal bearing capacity of the pile foundation is derived based on the shear strength index c and φ, and a simplified calculation formula that calculate the depth and value of the maximum bending moment of the pile body is also given. Finally, relying on a pile foundation project in Zhejiang Province, the horizontal bearing capacity of the pile foundation is measured and compared with the values given in this paper. The verification shows that the proposed method on the horizontal bearing capacity of pile foundation has strong engineering application values.
