Abstract:
It is an important issue to study the species composition, abundance pattern and spatial distribution of plants in water-level-fluctuating zone of large reservoirs under the special situation of out-of-season water level changes.Through the investigation of plant communities in the 145 m to 175 m elevation area near the dam section of Three Gorges Reservoir,we study the distribution of vegetation in different elevation areas. The results showed that herbaceous vegetation is the dominant plant community in the water-level-fluctuating zone, the spatial distribution of plants is affected by geographical differences and plant characteristics. The species richness and community height increase first and then decrease with the increase in elevation, and reach the maximum in the 161 m to 165 m elevation region. The findings provide a useful reference for promoting the restoration and reconstruction of the ecosystem of the water-level-fluctuating area of Three Gorges Reservoir area.
