Abstract:
To evaluate the early results of the Three Gorges Project migrant poverty alleviation work, based on the 2013 to 2020 economic and social survey data of the Three Gorges Reservoir area, this paper calculated the migrant poverty alleviation performance with the three-stage EDA model, analyzed the spatial differences with Dagum Gini coefficient and subgroup decomposition, and studied the time dynamic evolution characteristics with Kernel density estimation. Results show that, generally speaking, the migrant poverty alleviation performance in the Three Gorges reservoir area is under good condition, showing a spatial difference pattern of weak in the middle and slightly stronger at both ends of the reservoir, and temporal pattern of decentralization and polarization tending to converge. Therefore, this paper puts forward four policy suggestions: establishing a long-term mechanism to consolidate the achievements of poverty alleviation, improving the core leadership system, developing regional characteristic industries and promoting the construction of rural civilization.
