Abstract:
The river networks in the polder areas are generally characterized as insufficient hydrodynamic force and low self-purification capacity, and water environment problems are prominent.Source control and pollution interception and water transfer are common water environment control measures in river networks in polder areas, but it is difficult to realize the large-scale source control and pollution interception and the implementation period is long, and although the water transfer works rapidly, its duration is short, so it is necessary to combine these two measures.Yunlin Street, Xishan District in Wuxi City was taken as the study area, and a coupling model of water quality and water quantity was established to study the effect of water transfer under different levels of source control and pollution interception. Results showed that different water transfer methods had different impacts on the river water environment, and some methods would even worsen the river water quality; source control and pollution interception could effectively improve the water quality of the whole river; when combining two measures, the effect was better than that of using single method, and it could improve the deterioration of water quality caused by water transfer. The study can provide a scientific basis for effective and comprehensive treatment of water environment problems in the study area and other plain polder areas.
