Abstract:
The lower reaches of Jinsha River-Three Gorges cascade reservoirs are the key projects for the development and protection of the Changjiang River.To further improve the ability of cascade reservoir to cope with persistent drought and ensure the comprehensive utilization of water resources, combined with the characteristics of rainfall and inflow stream in the upper reaches of the Changjiang River in 2023,the optimal operation measures such as joint water supply, dynamic control of water level in flood season and joint impoundment of cascade reservoirs were comprehensively analyzed, and the effectiveness and experiences of joint operation of cascade reservoirs were summarized.The practical results showed that the cascade reservoir replenished 24.3 billion m3 water to the downstream in the dry season, which effectively guaranteed the security of water supply and the benefits of shipping and ecology in the middle and lower reaches of the Changjiang River.The utilization efficiency of water resources was effectively improved and the goal of full storage of cascade reservoir was guaranteed by raising water level in flood season and refining forecast and dispatching in impoundment period.The proposed operation measures and experience can provide an important reference for the joint optimal operation of controlling reservoirs in the Changjiang River Basin in the future.
