Abstract: To comprehensively strengthen the protection of aquatic creatures in the Changjiang River , and realize " integration and symbiosis " between economic construction and Changjiang River protection , we take the shield tunnel crossing Changjiang River Baiji Dolphin National Nature Reserve in Xinluo Section of HuBei Province ,second natural gas pipeline project of Sichuan gas transmission to east as an example. Based on the analysis of the adverse environmental impact of shield construction and operation of natural gas pipeline tunnel on the habitat of the nature reserve and its main protected objects ,ecological protection measures of the nature reserve were provided ,including pollution prevention and mitigation measures ,environmental management measures ,compensation measures ,ecologiCal monitoring measures ,scientific research management measures ,to ensure that the impact of engineering construction on the nature reserve is controllable. The research result can be a reference for the construction projects crossing the ecologically sensitive areas of the Changjiang River.
