Abstract:
Aiming at the difficulty in allocating flood control capacity of cascade reservoirs under complex hydraulic connections, flood-prone area compositions, and multi-level flood control tasks in a basin, this study constructed a multi-objective evaluation and analysis model for flood control capacity allocation of cascade reservoirs, to enhance flood control safety and security capabilities. Then a case study was conducted based on three cascade reservoirs in the Yalong River Basin. The results showed that: ① Compared with the design schemes of the Lianghekou, Jinping-I, and Ertan cascade reservoirs, the optimal flood control capacity allocation scheme, given by the multi-objective evaluation and analysis model for cascade reservoirs′ flood control capacity allocation, can reduce the downstream flood peak flow, the maximum water level during the scheduling period, and the water level at the end of the flooding.② Flood magnitudes will affect the flood control capacity allocation of cascade reservoirs.Specifically, as flood magnitudes increase, the flood control capacity allocated to the Jinping-I Reservoir increases, while that allocated to the Ertan Reservoir decreases. The research findings can provide references for formulating flood control capacity operation methods and joint operation schemes for cascade reservoirs.
