Abstract:
To further improve the research and application level of open source implicit 3D geological modeling software, with the help of open source software GemPy, we create a 3D geological model for Yantan Hydropower Station in Guangxi Province. In this case, we extract the coordinates of discrete points in the profile based on WebplotDigitizer, and then we fit the tangent vectors through the three times spline curve and finally convert to the direction of the data. The results showed that GemPy is the best choice for modeling data. The introduction of machine learning and Bayesian inference into GemPy can realize the creation and inversion of complex geological models, and as an open source software, it is conducive to the secondary development of functions and saves capital investment without copyright issues. However, the lack of an interactive interface and database management system in GemPy makes the modeling data collection inefficient and poor accurate, and the process of adding the constraints(line constraints, point constraints, yield constraints, etc.) is also cumbersome, and the mesh resolution is limited. Moreover, the presented method has disadvantages of hard calling of data results, mass occupation of memory, which needs algorithm optimization. The application and exploration based on GemPy can provide new thinking for implicit 3D geological modeling method.
