New mechanical characteristic testing method of inland river overhead vertical wharf

Abstract
The traditional test technology on mechanical characteristics of inland river overhead vertical wharf has disadvantages. To conveniently obtain the strain field, displacement field and relationship between load and deformation of wharf structure, we introduce two new structure detection methods. The pressure sensitive paint color changing technology (PSP) sprays a pressure sensitive paint made from a special material with pressure sensor function on the model surface, and the the paint on model surface will emit fluorescence under light excitation of specific wavelength, so the mechanical property of model structure could be mastered. The high speed camera imaging technology based on digital speckle (DSCM) makes accurate image process (by MATLAB) on two digital images before and after the structure deformation in a non-contact way, which can obtain the structure strain field. The two methods can quickly and accurately get the mechanical condition of structures in a non-destructive and panoramic way, which can provide reference for optimal layout design of wharf structures.
