    Application of base type IQ in channel flow automatic monitoring

    • To solve the problem of online channel flow monitoring, based on Doppler shift principle, base type IQ system for channel flow measurement was developed. The system realized real time on-line flow measurement and data transmission to center station through GPRS channel. The center station can analyze, process, store, copy, publish the measured data and inquiry real-time discharge, operation state and time-interval water quantity etc. Taking the terminal station of water supply project from Niulnanjiang River to Dianchi Lake as a case, this paper introduces the operation principle and installation-measurement process of the system and analyzes the measurement accuracy. The analysis results show that compared with traveling Doppler current meter developed by US SONTEK Company, the measurement error of the presented system is less than 5%, the maximum error is -6.71%, the systematic error is -0.9%, which can meet the requirements of correlated code.
