    Planning system of water resources protection zone construction in Yangtze River Economic Belt

    • In the light of the new situation and requirements of water resources protection in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the concept and connotation of the water resources protection zone construction is proposed. A new water resources protection zone planning system is put forward, including the basic principles, strategic pattern, construction layout and measure system. Focusing on the protection of drinking water sources and important waters, two kinds of construction layouts of water resources protection zone are put forward respectively. The first water resources protection zone for drinking water sources is composed of land isolated protective zone, riparian buffer zone and water purification zone. Another water resources protection zone for important waters is composed of sewage discharge control zone, water ecosystem conservation and restoration zone, ecological protection zone and non-point source pollution control zone. The research results are of great significance to guide the compilation of water resources protection construction planning and implementation of water resources protection measures in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
