Research on the Application of the Two-Layer Flow Model in the Simulation of the Debris Flow Blocking River Disaster Chain

    • To quantitatively analyze the process of the debris flow blocking river disaster chain, a two-layer hydrodynamic model and numerical method applicable to this specific disaster chain were established. A laboratory experiment and the whole process of the debris flow blocking river disaster chain that occurred in Meilong Gully, Sichuan Province in 2020 were both simulated. The results show that: the established model can quantitatively describe the entire dynamic process of the disaster chain, including debris flow movement, debris flow blocking the river, and outburst flood propagation; differences in the layout of gully blocking projects have a significant impact on the dynamic evolution process of the debris flow blocking river disaster chain. The research findings provide a theoretical and technical basis for the quantitative assessment of the debris flow blocking river disaster chain, and offer references for exploring optimized prevention and control schemes for this type of disaster chain.
